(Fitness Tips) Why should you have a well-balanced breakfast?

 I've been emphasizing the importance of having a well-balanced breakfast on daily basis over and over again.
I couldn't help but to reemphasize on this!

Have you ever wondered what is a well-balanced breakfast and why should you incorporate carbohydrates into your diet?
HERE are the what and whys!


A well-balanced breakfast includes foods from at least three out of the five food groups i.e. Carbohydrates, Protein and more.

Carbohydrates are one of three macronutrients — along with proteins and fats — that your body requires daily. There are three main types of carbohydrates: starches, fiber and sugars. Starches are often referred to as complex carbohydrates. They are found in grains, legumes and starchy vegetables, like potatoes and corn. 

Sugars are known as simple carbohydrates. There are natural sugars in vegetables, fruits, milk and honey. Added sugars are found in processed foods, syrups, sugary drinks and sweets.

Carbohydrates are your body’s main source of energy: They help fuel your brain, kidneys, heart, muscles and central nervous system. For instance, fiber is a carbohydrate that aids in digestion, helps you feel full and keeps blood cholesterol levels in check. Your body can store extra carbohydrates in your muscles and liver for use when you’re not getting enough carbohydrates in your diet. 

A carbohydrate-deficient diet may cause headaches, fatigue, weakness, difficulty concentrating, nausea, constipation, bad breath and vitamin and mineral deficiencies.

But....WHAT TO EAT???

A lot threw me this question on what to eat and what not to eat.
Frankly speaking, I don't encourage anybody to cut off any food completely from their diet.
The difference between simple and complex carbohydrates is one make you feel hungry faster than another.

BALANCE is always the key!
If you need a quick source of energy, why not?
 I came across this healthy option online.
It is a combination of dried nuts, fruits and fine grain flakes.
One serving of 50g will provides you a well-balanced breakfast, unless you are as active as me.

I usually pair this bowl with two (2) half-boiled eggs and protein shake because I need to hit my daily macro-nutrients requirement.
